Residents are being invited to a meeting this Friday, 13th December at Haydon Que Club at 6.15 p.m. to discuss a proposed development on land to the north of Kilmersdon Road for up to 100 homes.

The site is on 3.8 hectares of agricultural land and would see Haydon creeping very close to Radstock, should it go ahead. An expert in planning will lead the discussion on how residents can express their views during the consultation period. For those who cannot attend, comments need to be submitted via: [email protected]">[email protected] by 20th December.

One of the meeting's organisers, Sarah Westell, said: "Whilst we appreciate that people need somewhere to live, Radstock itself is very overstretched with the doctors' surgery extremely busy and Haydon has hardly any facilities at all. The NRR land is standing empty – this should be redeveloped first, before housing on green fields is even considered."
