For Lipreading Awareness Week, a number of sessions have been planned across Bath and North East Somerset.

Hearing loss affects one in six of the population in this country. That is over ten

million people and there are likely to be many more who haven’t had a hearing test. It takes people on average ten years to do something about their hearing loss, most don’t realise their hearing has deteriorated.

If you are turning up the TV, complaining that people don’t speak clearly any more, or struggling in meetings or social gatherings to catch all of the conversation, it is probably time for a hearing check.

During Lipreading Awareness Week, which takes place during 12th – 18th September, there will be a free taster session held at St Martin’s Hospital, Bath, on Wednesday, 14th September 5.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Paulton Memorial Hospital on Thursday, 15th September, 10.30 a.m. to 12 noon.
