RUHX’s Polar Plunge is back! Show your support for Royal United Hospitals Bath by joining us for a festive cold water dip on Saturday 2 December. Kick off the festive season by discovering the wellbeing benefits of winter dipping, while supporting our local hospital do more for patients this Christmas.

This year’s dip takes place at the beautiful South Cerney Outdoor lake in the Cotswolds, with a brilliant lifeguard team to guide you through the experience of cold water swimming.

Suitable for complete beginners looking to dip their toes in, or more experienced outdoor swimmers not quite ready to hang up their wetsuits, everyone can discover the wellbeing benefits of winter dipping, in a crystal clear lake.

This is a non-competitive event and participants can stay in the chilly water for as long as they want to. Dip, bob, or swim – all options available!

Dippers can choose to be a penguin (wear a wetsuit) or polar ‘bare’ (swimming costume only, no wetsuit!), and santa hats are encouraged. However participants choose to plunge, the lifeguard team from South Cerney Outdoor will be out in the water too to keep everyone safe at all times.

This exciting event will help the RUH to do more for patients this Christmas. Dippers are asked to raise a minimum of £75 to support our hospital over the winter months.

· £50 could fund a creative art session on the Children’s Ward

· £75 could fund a wedding keepsake box for those who choose to marry at the end of life

· £100 could fund live music on the Older Patients Unit

Over £4,500 was raised by #TeamRUHX at last year’s Polar Plunge – can you help us beat this in 2024?

Tickets cost £15 which includes your very own RUHX swim cap and a hot drink in the indoor café to warm you up after your dip.
