Easter weekend looks all set to be a busy one for Mardons Social Club.

The 7080 Band make their debut on Saturday, 20th April. The unique band provide an exciting fusion of dance and disco music, hand-picked from the 70s and 80s. From Disco

Inferno to Tainted Love, it’s a selection of all the very best dance songs of those eras, compiled to keep the dance floor filled. As always, entry is free to all, music starts at 9 p.m., and new faces always welcome.

Following the massive success last year, the club is once again staging their community event, the Easter Sunday Funday, and this time Rocky’s Magic Parties will be taking charge. Known for his balloon model creations, Glyn Davis will be hosting the disco in the afternoon, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with lots of games, prizes and treats. Entry is free, but parents are reminded they must remain on the premises to supervise their own children throughout the afternoon.

Mardons are in the process of supporting the Helping Henry fundraiser, with lucky squares currently on sale from the bar. The draw will take place on Easter Sunday afternoon, and all money raised will go to the cause.

Six year-old Henry comes from Midsomer Norton, and loves to be independent and to make people smile. At twelve months old, he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy spastic diplegia, which most noticeably affects his lower limbs, making him unable to stand or walk unaided.

The inspirational youngster strives for better mobility and independence and receives weekly therapy, teaching him the skills to sit, crawl and walk with a walker. He’s now learning to walk with just sticks and increasing his stamina to go even further.

The current fundraising effort will help enable Henry to continue his regular therapy to build on his existing skills and more importantly, to increase his balance, strength and coordination. For details about Henry and his achievements, visit: www.facebook.com/HelpingHenry6
