HEALTH chiefs have urged people eligible for an autumn Covid-19 booster to make an appointment.

While vaccine uptake for residents 65 and over in the Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wilshere Integrated Care Board area has been good, the take-up of vaccines in the 50 to 64-year-old age group has been disappointing.

Gill May, the care board’s chief nurse, said: “Both of these viruses have the potential to cause very serious problems to even the healthiest people, but especially those in our communities who are older or vulnerable. We need to act now to ensure that those who could see themselves end up in hospital if they get this terrible virus are protected.”
