The walk, kindly sponsored by Bath Vets, raises funds for unwanted cats and dogs being cared for by Bath Cats and Dogs Home. Starting from the rescue centre in Claverton Down there are two available walking routes across beautiful countryside, including the National Trust Bath Skyline.

There is a choice of a two-mile flat route staying close to the Home or a five-mile route along the National Trust Bath Skyline with more challenging terrain. All dogs who take part will receive a stylish ‘Wag Walk’ doggie bandana to wear on the walk and take home as a memento of the day.

The walk finishes back in the grounds of Bath Cats and Dogs Home where dogs and their owners are encouraged to stay for a picnic with their new Wag Walk friends, collect their goodie bags and enjoy the refreshments and activities available in the field. Plenty of spaces are up for grabs for local people and dogs to join in this year’s Wag Walk and you can register at: https://bit.ly/WagWalk22.

Entry costs £15 per person and is free for dogs and children under 16 years. All entrants will receive a personalised sponsorship form and we encourage each walker to raise a suggested £40 in sponsorship. Top fundraisers will receive a special prize and every pound raised will be used to care for unwanted and abandoned local dogs in need of your help.

Rachel Jones, CEO at Bath Cats and Dogs Home said; “We love seeing walkers and dogs having fun on the Wag Walk and raising money for the animals in our care. Every animal deserves their best shot at a happy ending and every step of this process is reliant on donations so any sponsorship you’re able to raise is very much appreciated. Our aim is for all our rescue pets to have a bright future with a new family of their own so please adopt if you can.”
