In September this year, members of Keynsham Mencap were enjoying their first group holiday together for two years in Cornwall, when one of the group’s two minibuses broke down.

For some members this is their only opportunity to go away with friends and feel more independent, it also provides essential respite for parents and carers. The additional costs associated with the crucial repairs and mini bus hire are now over £2,000. This is a cost that wasn’t budgeted for; along with a drop in income experienced over the pandemic it is now an urgent requirement to replenish these funds to ensure plans for Christmas activities will not be affected.
