In times of great need, kindness matters. Lions locally and around the world are responding to the growing humanitarian crisis caused by the war in Ukraine. It is estimated that around 4,000,000 people may try to leave the country as the crisis continues.
Our global foundation Lions Clubs International Fund had approved US$75,000 by the 4th March to Lions clubs in Poland, Hungary, Romania, Ukraine and Slovak Republic / Czech Republic. Lions clubs across the world are raising funds to send aid directly to respond to help refugees and displaced persons.
Radstock and Midsomer Norton have already made a donation to this fund and now there is a link on our website at: www.rmnlions.org.uk where you can make a donation to help Ukrainian refugees and displaced persons if you wish. 100% of your gift will go to this crisis.
Giving cash is the best way to help those caught up in the crisis, allowing urgent purchases. Goods can be purchased in bulk, saving money and allowing donations to go further. Fresh food can be bought locally and cash can build stronger infrastructure quickly.
Whether you send cash or goods, kindness always matters and it makes a difference.
