Did you guess the location of last week’s Mystery Photograph? We were at Victoria Terrace, Paulton – and thank you to those of you who have submitted your competition photographs – there’s still time to enter if you would like to!

Well done to those who guessed correctly: Neil Gillard, Paul Hancock, Allan Curtis, Joan Chappell, Jonathan Griffin, Simon Ball, Nicola Hinge, Simon Chard, Terry Reakes, Ken Cottle, Norma Attwood, Les Box, Hannah and James Selway, Gilmour Jones, Roger Clark, Gavin Kerton and Inchy Howard, Nicholas Day, Ivor Davis, Bill Biggs, Colin Button, Elaine Bowen, The Wasters Skittle Team, Martin Redwood, Ian Carter, Mike Ford, Mike Pope, Dan Clark, Sally Bown, Tony Jones, Sarah Harrington, Wendy White, Andrea Massey, Joe Tesoriere, Dan Fairington, Sue Heath, Wayne Heatley, Beryl Rhymer, Edna Brown, Graham Sage, Andrew Thayer and Martin Horler!

Thanks to Bill Biggs, who got in touch. He said: “I lived at the bottom of the Terrace until I joined the Royal Navy in 1944.

“I could well be one of the boys in the photo.

“The tall building at the top of the Terrace is Ashman’s Boot Factory. The small building in front is the Lottery Pub. All now long gone.

“I played football for many hours in that road!”

Answer next week!

This week’s photograph is courtesy of Radstock Museum, who have recently launched a new initiative, ‘Memories over Elevenses’. For a small cost to include tea, coffee and snacks, visitors can come along on the first Friday of the month from 10.30 a.m. until 12 noon, bringing old photographs, objects, documents and your stories, sharing your own local history knowledge with the team and making new friends.
