The Radstock Knitters were visited by Samantha Nolan, the Volunteer Services Manager for the Friends of the RUH on Saturday, 28th May to collect Twiddle muffs made for the hospital’s dementia patients. Thank you to all the ladies who took part. The Knitters’ next project is to make bed socks for the hospital for Christmas.
Jenny Prowse, from Radstock Knitters, said: “We have hit the target for the Daisy Bear campaign, so have now started work on knitted or crochet poppies. Our plan is to make a giant poppy wreath and have it put up on the Miners wheel in Radstock for 11th November, I am waiting to hear from the town council if this is possible. We also need a local farmer to kindly give us an inner tube from a tractor wheel to attach the poppies to.”
If you’d like to take part, there is no set pattern just what ever pattern, people find easier will do and any size. Any questions can be sent to: radstockknitters
