An exciting programme of new release cinema begins at Midsomer Norton Town Hall with three films over the course of this weekend, showcasing some of the biggest films from the past few months.

The first film to be screened using the new set-up will be the darkly comic tale, ’Three Billboards in Ebbing, Missouri’, this Friday, 9th March at 7.30 p.m., which recently scooped five BAFTA awards, including best film. A mother personally challenges the local authorities to solve her daughter’s murder when they fail to catch the culprit.

The film stars Frances McDormand, Sam Rockwell and Woody Harrelson.

There will then be two films screened on Saturday, 10th March. First up at 2.30 p.m., will be the hit family film, ’Paddington 2’. While searching for the perfect present for his beloved Aunt Lucy’s 100th birthday, Paddington spots a unique pop-up book in Mr Gruber’s antique shop, and embarks upon a series of odd jobs to buy it. But when the book is stolen, it is up to the bear from Peru and the Browns to unmask the thief.

The third and final film screening of the weekend will be ’The Greatest Showman’ on Saturday evening starting at 7.30 p.m. The film is an original musical inspired by the life of P.T. Barnum, starring Hugh Jackman.
