On 17th September, Coleford-based charity, Time is Precious, held a Lego-themed fundraiser at the Centurion Hotel, which saw over 1,000 visitors come to observe 45 tables of Lego masterworks.
The event, which ran from 11 a.m. to 4.30 p.m, featured a build competition for four to six-year-olds, merchant stalls where rare pieces and characters could be bought, and an assortment of large-scale designs, including a metropolitan city, an Olympic stadium (complete with diving pool), and the Star Wars planet of Hoth, amongst others.
There was also a refreshment stand, serving homemade cakes and hot drinks, and an appearance by the Lego robot club, who allowed the children to get interactive. Time is Precious co-founder, Neil Halford, said: “A massive thank you to all our exhibitors, who came from all over the country, with their amazing Lego builds. We would also like to thank Frome Self Storage for sponsoring our event, with the support of Sun Chemical, Docmail, Bristol Business Forms, Coleford Legion, and not forgetting the Centurion Hotel, who let their premises be taken over by Bricks! It was the first time the charity have held this event and we will be having another in the future.”
The total sum raised during the event was a whopping £2,782.86.
