Saturday's Duck Race along Midsomer Norton High Street's River Somer was a great success, with hundreds of plastic, numbered ducks

providing a fine spectacle for shoppers and young families cheering on their ducks.

The Bank Holiday weekend had brought plenty of shoppers to the High Street to enjoy the additional activity. Promoted by the Radstock and Midsomer Norton Lions Club and once again organised by Lions Dave Ingram and Alan Denham, the total proceeds exceeding £500 will be devoted to local causes – watch this space.

Winner: £50, Duck Number 845, Mrs Addicott of Chilcompton. Runners-up: £30, Duck Number 832, Mrs Warton of Midsomer Norton and £20, Duck Number 814, Mrs Redwood of Paulton.
