At the B&NES Chairman’s Awards on February 8th, Paulton’s special couple, Terry and
Caroline Wynne MBE, were recognised for their outstanding Community Service.
They were nominated for a Lifetime Award by Liz Hardman (B&NES Councillor for Paulton). Liz said: “It was a great opportunity to be able to nominate the Wynnes for this award. Since their retirement from Cadbury’s, Keynsham, they have worked hard for the past twenty years to support Paulton Hospital in every way, from hi-tech equipment to DVD players.
“Their dedication has been recognised by this special award, not only to people in Paulton, but all across B&NES.”
Terry and Caroline were both delighted to be awarded this special award by the Chair of B&NES Council, Cllr Cherry Beath.
Terry said: “To win the Chair’s special award, which was chosen from all of the nominations received, was overwhelming for us. We are so proud to be recognised for all the charity work we have done over the years.
“Now the shop is closed, we are looking forward to our retirement, but also still helping Paulton Hospital with our tombola. Thank you all again, the local community, and all the helpers and volunteers from the charity shop. As one chapter closes, another one begins.”
