Not to be outdone by a pandemic, Midsomer Norton Arts Festival decided to plough on and try to make something of 2020. Whilst the live-stream music event sadly fell victim to the second lockdown and has been postponed, the Photomarathon still went ahead, four months after it had been planned – and local people did not disappoint with their brilliant entries.

This year, due to the restrictions on groups gathering, the event happened remotely, with entries uploaded online.

Members of the public were invited to take part in exploring the local area in imaginative and unfamiliar ways, using their camera.

Entrants were asked to take one photograph for each of this year’s six chosen themes: Circle, Home, Comfort, Outside, Shine and Alone.

Organisers encouraged participants to be as creative and unique as possible, with the photos set to be displayed in various forms around the town.

The full selection of photos, as well as news when it arrives on the rescheduled live-stream, can be viewed online at: www.midsomernortoncommunitytrust.co.uk/artsfest.

The event was organised by the Midsomer Norton Community Trust and sponsored by Midsomer Norton Town Council.
