Since the release of new smartphone game, ‘Pokémon Go’, people around the world have found themselves in less than ideal situations, including a group of local teenagers who found themselves stuck in a cave.
The group of teenagers found themselves lost in caves just outside Bath, whilst hunting for the imaginary Pokémon. Firefighters from Trowbridge, Chippenham and Corsham were called out to the caves at Boxfields, where four teens were rescued by a specialist mine rescue team.
Authorities have warned players to make sure they are aware of their surroundings and to be sensible, even if there is a rare Pokémon hiding nearby!
Many local landmarks, including Midsomer Norton’s Town Hall and Silver Street Nature Reserve are featured in the game as ‘gyms’ or ‘Pokestops’ where players can advance in the game.
