Congratulations to Louise Tarr, from Paulton, who has completed the massive challenge of the Cotswold Way – 62 miles of continuous running that took her over fourteen hours and raised over £2,000 for The UK Sepsis Trust, in memory of her granddad, Clive Ward, from Clutton.
Louise, who has been training around her job as a flight attendant, lined up for the 100K race on 1st July after months of preparation. She said: “The run took me 14 hours, 23 minutes and 25 seconds.
“It was the single most painful, yet most enjoyable day of my life!
“The total climb of 2,000 metres made it that much more difficult – I just wanted to finish the run still standing, but I actually ended up being sixth lady and for the first 25 miles, I was first lady!
“Flapjacks were my main source of fuel, and I must have drunk approximately six litres of water.
“Knowing I was running for my Grandad and knowing how many people helped me raise money for The UK Sepsis Trust made me push myself to the finish line.
“I raised an incredible £2,272.27 for the UK Sepsis Trust, so I would just like like to say a massive thank you to everyone, I couldn’t have done it without you all!”
