Victoria Hall audiences will be transported back to Neverland on Saturday, 12th March at 4.30 p.m., with a family screening of Pan (PG) and in the evening, to the London underworld with a 7.30 p.m. screening of Legend (18).
Legend tells the story of two of the most notorious gangsters in British history, Reggie and Ronnie Kray. The twist in this case is that both roles are played expertly by the same leading actor, Tom Hardy. (Oscar Nominee 2016, Actor in a Supporting Role for The Revenant.)
The film depicts the brothers’ reign of terror as a battle for Reggie’s soul; a man caught between the wife who loves him and wants him ‘free and above board’ and the unstable brother who is loath to lose his partner in crime.
The astonishing double performance by Hardy as both brothers is really one not to be missed. A combination of stunning performances and stylish cinematography about this compelling chapter in British history, provides a particularly grown up treat.
Pan takes the J.M. Barrie classic, Peter Pan, as its starting point with young Peter (Levi Miller) again finding himself in Neverland. This time, Captain Hook is not his main nemesis, but instead his only true ally against the evil Blackbeard (Hugh Jackman). Will this 12-year-old orphan fulfil his destiny, as the heroic boy who never grows up? And will he ever learn to fly?
With an impressive cast headed by Hugh Jackman, Pan takes you to a Neverland where great swashbuckling battles are fought, ships fly through the air and the lost boys sing a cappella versions of Smells like Teen Spirit. This is a Neverland both comfortingly familiar for lovers of the original story and simultaneously new and exciting.
Tickets for both screenings can be booked online at www.vhradstock.co.uk or by phoning Bath Box Office on 01225 463362.
Film screenings at the Victoria Hall are made possible thanks to Bath Film Festival’s outreach programme and funding from the BFI Neighbourhood Cinema and Bath and North East Somerset Council.
