This summer’s school holiday summer event at Somerset Coalfield Life at Radstock Museum saw museum volunteers, in Victorian bathing suits, and children enjoying a morning of craft activities, ‘hook a duck’ and taking photos of themselves behind the Victorian Bathing Buddies photo board, with holes cut for their faces to poke through.

The museum themed the activities on the Victorian seaside and sea creatures, making all sorts of things, from Victorian bathing machines to windmills, fish and puppets. The children were then all treated to a free ice-cream.

Look out for Museums Week in October half-term. with a family Fossil Hunt and children’s harvest-themed activity and craft morning at the museum.
