Apologies to Norwest members for not putting in last week’s report, l thought l had emailed it to The Journal, but sent it to myself!

On Wednesday evening, thirty-two members played a friendly four rink mixed game over eighteen ends – it was good to see so many smiling faces and the banter was excellent.

In the top club, Norwest travelled to Yatton but lost two rinks to three rinks.

On a positive note, two of our young members, Jack and Chloe, together with Cameron from Purnell, were selected to play for the Junior Somerset County against Dorset and they won by four shots. All played well and were a credit to their clubs – big thanks to Don Dart and Mel Bowen for their commitment to coaching these youngsters.

Sad news: Gwerwyn Thomas died on Sunday, 6th June. Gwerwyn and his wife, Jean, were long-time members of the club, he was also a previous bar manager and with the help of Jean they also ran numerous skittle nights. All our thoughts are with Jean and their family in this sad time.
