Mendip's motorists will have two road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that both of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A303, from 8pm September 8 to 6am September 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 both directions Sparkford to Podimore lane closures - for Sparkford to Ilchester improvement scheme.

And one more closure will begin over the next two weeks:

A36, from 9am September 29 to 5pm October 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 both directions Beckington used as a diversion route for Wiltshire Council closure of the A361.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
