Mentoring Plus, a Bath-based charity working across B&NES, is appealing for walkers for The Bath Marches being held on 18th September 2021. The charity supports over 250 local young people each year with mentoring programmes, helping to inspire young people already facing difficult challenges. The mentoring helps increase confidence, self-esteem and helps young people with mental health and wellbeing. Recently, due to the pandemic, there has been a surge in demand.

Fundraising Manager, Jenny Perez, said: “We’ve teamed up with The Bath Marches, to raise much needed funds due to a lack of community events over the past year. We took part last year and it was a well organised, fun event. This year we’re aiming to have the biggest charity team there and hope adults, children and families will sign up to either the 9 mile or 15 mile walk."

Richard Best, from Iconic Events, who organise the Bath Marches said: “We’re delighted to have charities like Mentoring Plus on board. This is our second year, this time featuring Max the Marcher, who is wearing a collection of period clothing representing the diverse military history associated with Bath. Max will be sharing with youngsters entertaining but historically accurate stories of times gone by in Bath during the event.”
