Baking will be the subject of the May Midsomer Food meeting on Thursday, 26th May, 7 p.m. at Midsomer Norton Town Hall with speaker, Sarah Jane Shepherd of local business, Minky Kitten Cakes.
Sarah Jane Shepherd, who recently won a First prize and Gold award at the London Cake and Bake Show, will be talking about her journey from Primary School Headteacher to designer cake maker and will be able to answer any cake baking queries and hopefully run a hands-on cupcake icing activity.
At the same time, there will be a short talk by the Chair of Midsomer Norton Town Show Committee to encourage entries for this year’s event on Saturday, 9th July. The Town Show has grown from strength to strength and so anyone who is thinking of entering this year is very welcome. Sections to be covered being sponsored by Docky’s Delicatessen and Jacarandas include Victoria Sponge (from recipe), Fruit Cake (from recipe), Five Scones (from recipe), Savoury Flan, Five Biscuits, Lemon Drizzle Cake, Apple Cake, jam and pickle entries and bread making.
