In the current climate many residents naturally concerned with the future of High Streets, and many have longed for more markets or community events to help create a vibrant Town Centre in Midsomer Norton. But what do people want? Who is keen to help organise them?
Midsomer Norton Community Trust have teamed up with Green Bath to try and facilitate a group of people with the ideas and enthusiasm to explore setting up markets and other High Street events. To get the ball rolling there will be a couple of friendly informal drop-ins at Unit 14 on South Road where hopefully those interested in giving can come along with their ideas - and perhaps put their name down to form a positive new team with voices across the community and explore working together? The drop-ins will be on Monday 27th February at 7-8.30pm and on Tuesday 28th February from 1-2.30pm.
Whilst the organisations would love to see both Town and B&NES Councillors support the project with their ideas, this is NOT council led event. It's more of a call to arms from concerned residents to work together whilst we have upcoming opportunities (such as the Market hall and Market Square developments) and before it is too late.
“We have wonderful people, groups and spaces in Midsomer Norton so we would love to speak to as many people as possible who want to help the town” said Alex Davis from the Community Trust. If you would like to be involved, or kept up-to-date going forward, but are unable attend either of the two dates, email [email protected]
