Fresh off the back of the Somerset and Dorset Railway Heritage Trusts’ award for local business initiative from the Midsomer Norton Town Council, the Trustees and Board met in the Town Hall to “thrash out a strategic plan” for the future of the station and railway.
The site at Midsomer Norton Station has expanded, and the restoration work has proceeded so well that the Trust must decide whether to consolidate or progress. If more progress is to be made then the Railway would like more local people to be involved.
The Trust Chair, Stephen Lacey, is inviting people along to the next event on the weekend of July 14th and 15th when trains will be running.
Stephen said: “We would welcome visitors to come along for a ride on a train, visit the Museum and shop, see the signal box and greenhouse and enjoy a snack in the buffet.”
