‘Heritage Open Days’ is England’s largest festival of history and culture. It’s all about encouraging people to visit interesting historic buildings, cultural venues, and natural spaces that they might not have visited before – including shops, squares, churches, cemeteries, private homes, ruins, civic buildings, parks, performance venues, and more.

Every year, thousands of organisers across the country get involved. Confirmed open events will be held at Midsomer Norton Pop-Up Museum and Heritage Hub, Midsomer Norton Library & Information, History and Hospitality at Sewing-Sanctuary, Methodist Church, tower Tours at St John the Baptist Church, the skate park, and Somer Valley FM: conducting a ‘History Since 2008’

The festival runs 9th-18th September and this year is themed around “Astounding Inventions”.
