Following on from Radstock Baptist Minister, Andrew Stammers' 100-mile sponsored walk in aid of Brain Tumour Research last weekend, the church will be holding another charity fundraiser this Saturday, 8th June.

Coffee and teas will be served with home-made cakes between 10 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. at Radstock Baptist Church. There will be various items on sale, including toys, books, cards, bric-a-brac and plants.

The highlight of the morning will be at 11.30 a.m. when there will be an auction of 'Radstock Mini Pigs'. These were inspired by the legend of King Bladud who, observing his pigs cured of leprosy after rolling in the hot springs at Bath, was himself cured of the disease after also bathing in the springs. The pigs have been painted by both local artists and children in the community.

The aim of the morning is to raise public awareness for the Brain Tumour Research charity and the work of the Baptist Missionary Society's World Vision Fund, supporting displaced families in the Middle East. Proceeds from the morning will be shared between these two charities.
