From Thursday, 30th May until Sunday, 2nd June, Pastor Andrew Stammers, of Radstock Baptist Church, will walk 100 miles along the Kennet and Avon Canal, in approximately 72 hours, hoping to raise £1,000 in aid of the Brain Tumour Research charity.
Andrew, who was diagnosed wtih brain cancer in 2011, says: "Very little is known about brain cancer, compared to other cancers, yet it kills more children and more people under the age of forty than any other cancer. Research is very poorly funded; only receiving 0.7% of national cancer funding. As well as raising money for much needed research, I also want to raise awareness of the disease."
