Last Friday, Paulton League of Friends were presented with a cheque for £500, thanks to the support of Paulton Rovers and local people who have been going along to the monthly charity afternoon tea event. The money will be used to help our much valued community hospital.
Next month’s afternoon tea will be held on Monday, 3rd June, with visitors able to call in any time between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. at Paulton Rovers, and is being supported by Tesco.
June’s event will be helping to raise money for The Rifles Charities and supporting Paulton veteran, Paul Thorner, from the 1st Battalion Light Infantry, who will be taking part in a military fundraising march, in September, along Hadrian’s Wall, with around 175 others, to raise awareness of PTSD. Paul will be marching in memory of his colleague, Glyn Woodland, who sadly passed away last year.
Watch this space for more on Paul’s story – in the meantime, please go along and support this local event!
