The Chilcompton Society Flower Show on 3rd September will be the 37th, the first one being held in the Miners’ Welfare hall in 1980. The format is much the same, but with more classes of flowers, veg, cookery, crafts and children’s options.

This year there are new classes, such as apple cake, teabread and jelly jam; one of the photo classes is entitled, ‘Reflections’, and children are asked to design a party invitation for the Queen’s 90th birthday or paint a space picture.

The show opens at 2.15 p.m., a raffle and teas are on offer all afternoon with winners being announced at 4.15 p.m. It is hoped there will be lots of entries to ensure a successful day and a promising future for the show.

Schedules are available from David on: 01761 233142.
