Somerset Coalfield Life at Radstock Museum re-opens on Tuesday
February 1st, resuming pre-covid opening hours Tuesday – Sunday 2 pm – 5 pm, Saturdays 11 am – 5 pm (Closed Mondays).
During December and January the museum volunteers have been busy spring cleaning the museum which includes painstakingly removing dust from many delicate artefacts.
Exhibition Team volunteers have also been busy collating and displaying a new exhibition featuring a large collection of cameras and photographic equipment along with a few photographs all donated by late
local photographer, Mike Witcombe.
Tea Room Volunteers needed
Would you be able to spare an afternoon occasionally to make cups of tea for museum visitors?
Radstock Museum is looking for volunteers to make tea and coffee and serve biscuits and cake on a flexible basis as frequently or infrequently as suits. The tea room is designed to resemble a steam railway buffet from the past; it is attached to the museum shop and admissions desk area where front of house and shop volunteers will keep you company. Should you decide to give it a go, Volunteer Tearoom Manager Linda Hughes will provide induction training and you can see if you enjoy the experience and wish to continue. You will be warmly welcomed into the museum family. To find out more, email: [email protected] or ring 01761 437722 or call in during Museum opening hours.
