The National Theatre Live’s exciting new programme continues with The Threepenny Opera at Midsomer Norton Town Hall on Thursday, 22nd September at 7 p.m.

By making use of the latest satellite broadcast technology, the live screening gives local audiences a chance to catch the darkly comic new take on Brecht and Weill’s raucous musical broadcast, live from the stage of the National Theatre.

Mack the Knife is back in town as London scrubs up for the coronation. The thieves are on the make and the police cutting deals to keep it all out of sight. Mr and Mrs Peachum are looking forward to a bumper day in the beggary business, but their daughter didn’t come home last night and it’s all about to kick off. This bold, anarchic production stars Olivier Award-winner Rory Kinnear as Macheath, alongside Rosalie Craig as Polly Peachum and Haydn Gwynne as Mrs Peachum.

The NT Live programme then continues with a live screening of ‘No Man’s Land’, starring Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen on Thursday, 15th December. All screenings take advantage of the Town Hall’s HD cinema projection and full 7.1 Digital Surround Sound. The fully licenced Sarah Ann bar is open for all screenings.
