Students working on the launch of a new youth group for Midsomer Norton have been learning, hands on, about designing corporate logos with local company, Frome Signs, based at Westfield.

The pilot youth group has been meeting since September last year at the Town Hall, in Midsomer Norton, with young people working alongside students from Bath Studio School. The aim has been to develop a group with all aspects designed by the young people themselves, made possible with funding from Midsomer Norton Town Council.

"It's been very interesting to learn first-hand how to design a new corporate identity and overall, what needs to be done to get a project like this up and running," said Stanley Chatt, a student from Bath Studio School.

Youth workers from the Wansdyke Play Association have been providing support for the growing group of young people shaping this exciting new project in Midsomer Norton, which is due to launch in March.

"The group has come up with some really fabulous ideas, and it has been great to help them turn these into something that can be used as an identity for the group and promote it to local young people," said Rob Ford, owner of Frome Signs.

In the coming weeks, the company will be working full steam ahead, producing a wide range of signage and other launch materials for the grand unveiling next month.
