Next Saturday, residents in Peasedown St John are being invited to take part in a community clean up.

During the summer, local Councillors, Karen Walker and Sarah Bevan launched a new, monthly clean up scheme where they invite villagers to join them on the first Saturday of the month to give a chosen street a tidy up.

The next clean up will be held on Saturday, 7th October at 11.30 a.m. in North Meadows, Eckweek Road and White Ox Mead Lane.

Cllr Bevan (Independent) said: “We have organised many community clean ups over the years, and it’s always good to see residents joining in. People often feel a strong sense of pride and community spirit when they give their time up to do something for the area they live in.”

Anyone who would like to come should bring gloves and any protective clothing they may want to wear. Litter pickers and rubbish sacks will be provided. The councillors will publicise monthly, by delivering letters to homes, where each clean up will take place.
