Welton Baptist Church has celebrated another successful summer children’s camp, which ran at Somervale School throughout last week.

N’Fest, the church’s annual summer event, saw over two hunded 4–11 year-olds taking part in various activities each morning, including performances, arts and crafts, storytelling and even raps about the Bible! There were also afternoon and evening events, such as a Sports Day, football tournament, movie night, a cream tea for those over sixty, and a dinner dance.

This year’s theme was N’Fest ‘goes wild’, with the school hall decorated with jungle streamers, inflatable parrots and monkeys. There was also the chance for

parents and friends to enjoy cakes and refreshments thanks to the Early Shift Café, which usually meets at Midsomer Norton Town Hall on Friday mornings from 8.30 a.m. – 10 a.m.

Speaking about the success of the event, Clare Green, from Welton Baptist Church, said: “The event takes around the whole year to plan with the help of a dedicated group of volunteers and church members.

“It is our gift to the community – people can’t believe that all of the activities are free, and it comes at a welcome time when the summer holidays are ending and money can perhaps be a little short.

“We have around two hundred members that regularly come to church here at Somervale every Sunday and we truly try to offer something for everyone.”
