Organisers of what has become Paulton’s annual village event, the Paulton Party in the Park, have announced that the event is to be cancelled this year, due to new premises licensing rules, committee insurance liability and a lack of police presence.

In a statement released last week, the committee said: ‘As you may know, we’ve been preparing for Paulton’s Party in the Park since November last year. Like us, we know, everybody in Paulton was looking forward to another successful event.

‘However, it has now come to our attention that there are obstacles preventing us from holding this year’s Party in the Park. We very much appreciate that this decision to cancel the event is disappointing. However, we are working to overcome these problems and to hold Paulton’s Party in the Park on Saturday, 1st July 2017. We will be back!’
