On Sunday afternoon, twenty people took part in 108 sun salutations at Midsomer Norton Town Hall, raising money for Bath’s Mind charity, which focuses on supporting mental health.
The event was organised by Lucy Sidwick of Zen Rebel Yoga and Maddie Norris of Yoga with Mad.
Event co-organiser, Lucy Sidwick, said: “Bath Mind was the in-house charity for the Wunderbar that James Bridges and I used to do charity events for. Since the bar’s closure, I’ve been thinking of things I could do to raise money.
“Maddie and I collaborated to do 108 sun salutations during Mental Health Awareness Week, with a focus on men’s mental health, which is something close to my heart. We had twenty yogis taking part, all completing the full 108 sequences; some having never even done yoga before!
“We hope to raise over £1,000 between us, which would take the total raised over the years to £10,000. We are looking at repeating this event on World Mental Health Day on 10th October. Please get in touch if you would like to be involved!”
Maddie added: “Thank you all for showing up for Yogathon, it was great to see so many of you sun saluting for such an important cause – positive, feel-good and fun.”
