Jason Gardener MBE, Olympic and Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist, presented the awards at Writhlington's Sports Presentation Evening.
He gave a heart-warming and inspirational speech and students and their families were invited to celebrate and receive awards in recognition of their sporting success throughout the year.
Head of PE, Ben Naunton, said: "This year's event was black tie and the students looked fantastic, they take such pride in their sports and it's a really wonderful way to end the year.
"Nothing quite beats the look of pride from parents as their children receive their awards and it is a real privilege to be a part of that. We were very lucky to have Jason Gardener present the awards and it really gave the evening an incredible atmosphere."
Writhlington students have excelled in sports this year, reaching finals in County and National events, training with GB athletes and a few attending training for the 2016 Olympics.Head Teacher, Mark Everett, said: "We are very proud of our students, they always strive to be the very best at what they do and it is incredible what some of the young people have achieved.
"We have a fantastic PE Department, who offer so many opportunities to our students and I feel privileged to work with such a dedicated and hardworking team."
