A Fun Day held in Temple Cloud to raise money for the Wallace and Gromit Grand Appeal has raised £2,758.65.
The event, which was featured in The Journal earlier this month, was organised by Tasha Dix and her family as a thank you to Bristol Children’s Hospital following the treatment her nephew, Morgan, received after contracting meningitis as a baby.
Tasha said: “We could never thank them enough for saving Morgan. After all the hard work and stress of arranging the fun day, it turned out to be a very big success and we have had some lovely feedback saying how people enjoyed the day and how we should be proud.
“It was a very emotional day for me and my family and brought back so many memories, we can’t thank people enough for coming along and supporting us and making the day a great
success. At the moment, we have raised £2,758.65 and still have money coming in!
“We would really like to thank the boys for their sponsored wax, which took place on the day. I think Morgan’s uncle, Shaun Dix, had a very painful experience of having his chest waxed, he managed to raise an amazing amount.”
The money raised will be going to the Wallace and Gromit Grand Appeal, a charitable organisation that raises money for Bristol Children’s Hospital.
The family are hoping to make the fundraising fun day an annual event in the village.
