Sustaining reading practice during the long six week break is vital for those beginning to develop their reading skills and for those who could easily lose the progress they have already made in school.

This is why the Summer Reading Challenge organised by the library service is so important. Each library was given a supply of packs. Paulton Library used up its full quota and we were delighted with how many children completed the Challenge.

Many thanks to the Library Volunteer Co-ordinator, Kathleen Still, who organised a wonderful table display in the Library (see photo) congratulating many of those who have completed the Reading Challenge.

We are already looking forward to next year’s Reading Challenge! Liz Hardman
