Sadly, the organisers of Paulton’s Party in the Park, led by George Batchelar, have made its decision to cancel this year’s event. This decision was one of the most difficult that the committee has had to make.
Although the Government’s roadmap does allow for restrictions on large events to be lifted, there are still uncertainties around how society will operate after the end of lockdown on June 21st.
Hopefully this date will not be extended, but as you will appreciate, an event like Party in the Park involves a considerable amount of planning and organisation.
There is an enormous risk involved in having to cancel such an event at short notice with non-refundable costs involved, as well as ensuring the safety of the public.
However, Party in the Park will be back next year but with a difference!
Instead of our usual date of the first Saturday in July, we are moving our event to the first Saturday in June.
We will be holding our Party in the Park during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebratory weekend. A four-day weekend has been planned to celebrate this Jubilee and Paulton‘s Party in the Park will be joining in to hold its event on Saturday, June 4th.
So please keep the date free, as we plan to be back with our best Party in the Park ever!
