45 Paulton Senior Citizens gathered together for their Christmas lunch last week. The occasion was organised by the Senior Citizens’ Lunch club, led by June Drake (treasurer), Pat Jones (secretary) and June Maggs (Chairman) and other members of the committee.

The Senior Citizens enjoyed wonderful Christmas food, served by the Tesco Community team, led by the Tesco Community Champion, Becky Eschle. Tesco also provided the Christmas puddings. The Tesco team, who gave up their free time to attend, also included Maxine Parsons (store manager), Deb Carter, Marie Best, Sue Jones, Pam Reynolds and Bradley Christer.

Bradley, who works in Bath, came back especially for the occasion, as he “enjoyed it so much last year”. Maxine Parsons, Store Manager, said: “On behalf of Tesco, we’d like to wish everyone a very happy Christmas!”

The Senior Citizens were then treated to a delightful rendering of Christmas songs and carols, from class 3S from Paulton Junior School, led by their teacher, Robin Smith. B&NES Councillor, Liz Hardman, and Anne Lyons, Chair of Paulton Parish Council, also attended.

The Senior Citizens’ luncheon Club meet on the second Wednesday of the month in the Scout Hut, Plumptre Road, at 12 noon. As well as organising lunches, day trips also take place. All are welcome. If interested, contact June Drake.
