Members of the Paulton Support Ukraine Committee took part in a fundraising quiz at the Red Lion on Sunday.

This was organised by Dot and Cyril Mitchard who generously give their time to organise a monthly quiz for local charities.

A total of £232 was raised to help support the Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC) which is coordinating help for people in Ukraine.Money donated to DEC will be matched by the Government.

Raffle tickets and ribbons can also be bought in local shops. Councillor Liz Hardman who also attended the quiz said: “What residents in Paulton are doing to help the people of Ukraine is fantastic. A huge thank you to the Paulton with Ukraine committee who are raising this much needed money.”

Paulton stands with Ukraine, is holding an event this Sunday, 20th March at the village hall from 3 pm – 5 pm with a raffle drawn at 4 pm. There will be fundraising face painting, children’s activities, refreshments and music.

Noah’s Ark Pre-School will also be taking part in arts, crafts and seed planting from 3 pm – 4.30 pm (£1 entry).

The grand total of the Paulton effort will be announced at 5pm on the day and everyone is invited along to be together as a community and to reflect on the reason why.
