We have had wonderful marrows, cucumbers, apples – and now pumpkins and squash. Deborah, (pictured), helps run the project. She said: “Since the Crop Drop project began at the end of July, over 100 ‘drops’ have been delivered from grower to food project across the whole of B&NES.
“In the Somer Valley, local allotments and growers have supported Peasedown Food Bank, Swallow Community Cafe, Temple Cloud Food Larder, Radstock Food Club and of course, Paulton Village Larder.
“We estimate that almost 300kg of produce has been shared within the Somer Valley so far.
“Produce has ranged from apples, beans, cabbages, courgettes, kale, pumpkins. tomatoes, cucumbers – the list goes on!
“We are keen to hear from anybody (grower or community food project), that would like to take part in the project. Please email us at: [email protected]
“More details about the project can be found at: www.cropdrop.org.uk/. You can also follow our progress on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.”
