Judith Plucknett (pictured) celebrated her last day as Paulton's Parish Clerk with tributes paid by local Councillors. Speaking last week, Les Wild, Chair of Paulton Parish Council, said: "Judith has been so much a part of Paulton Parish Council and the progress we've made, including becoming a 'Quality Council'. This means we are one of the best in the country. Paulton will not be the same without her and she will be sorely missed."

Judith has been Paulton's Parish Clerk for 33 years and has overseen huge changes in this time. Judith commented "My job is the best job in Paulton. One of the best things about Paulton Parish Council is that it is non-political. They are so proactive in trying to improve things for residents and they are prepared to go for it."

Graham Dix, who was Chair of Paulton Parish Council when Judith first started, was delighted to be there when she retired – present at the beginning and at the end. Judith was given a bouquet of flowers and a painting by local artist, Terry Bridgeman, (who is also a Parish Councillor). Judith gave thanks to all she had worked with, especially to Les Wild, present Chair, and Anne Lyons, Vice- Chair, and Graham Dix.

Judith also thanked Jane Cross, Paul Davison, Gail Garlick and Andrew Scrivens for all they had done to help her with her job in tackling many of the issues that have arisen in Paulton and she also thanked Mark Craedock.

Judith has done a mammoth job in working to ensure Paulton Parish Council meets the needs of its residents. We will all miss her greatly, but we wish her a very happy and well deserved retirement.
