A charity race night will be held at the Cricket Club in Peasedown St John on Saturday, 30th March.

The event is being held to support Charlotte Owen, a young woman from the village, who will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in October to raise money for Childreach

International.

The aim of the charity is to help children gain access to healthcare, education, rights and protection. Her target is to raise £2,500. Charlotte said: "Any support will be greatly appreciated and all donations, even the smallest amount, will help benefit the children and make a big difference to their lives."

After completing this challenge, Charlotte and all other volunteers will visit a school during lunchtime to serve lunch and get to meet some of the children that the money raised will benefit.

The event on Easter Saturday starts at 7.30 p.m. and includes a raffle, body-waxing and plenty of competitions. For more details and tickets, contact Darren Owen by emailing: [email protected]">[email protected] or call: 07843 525151. Tickets are also available behind the bar at the Cricket Club.
