Eleven in all gathered on a sunny afternoon, and enjoyed a brief introduction and commentary from trustee, Simon Carter, who undertook the considerable task of setting up the exhibition that runs until May 2022. Together with Margot’s father, Mike accumulated a wealth of artefacts associated with his lifelong hobby, and it is just a fraction of these that are on show at the Museum, but they represent the depth of the passion he had for the art form, and demonstrate how technology has transformed it in his lifetime.

Margot is unable now to continue with her own love of photography due to her lack of mobility, but she still encourages members to be active and enjoyed seeing people in person at the Museum, which we explored at our leisure. Simon and the Trustees made us all very welcome and we were treated to tea and biscuits in the sunny café where we chatted and passed the time socially, enjoying their hospitality for which we were all very grateful.

Last week we enjoyed the sunshine with a walk in the Alham Valley from Batcombe to Spargrove, following the footsteps of noted war and landscape photographer, Don Mc Cullen, who has made his home there.
