New images showing the interior design of the Palladium Electric, the disused cinema in Midsomer Norton that is currently being renovated into a new bar and restaurant, have been released by architects working for chain pub giant, JD Wetherspoon.
The designs of the new pub – known as the Palladium Electric in reference to its old moniker – show the balcony of the old cinema utilised for additional seating, with a large staircase in the middle of the room, a long bar, numerous tables and chairs and even chandeliers.
Work has been taking place in the High Street recently, with much of the interior and exterior being torn out and redeveloped from scratch.
Speaking to The Journal in March, Paul Myers, the Mayor of Midsomer Norton, said: “It is fantastic news that JD Wetherspoon are about to start work to redevelop the old Palladium site, which has been derelict for far too long.
“This significant investment by a major national brand name will not only bring increased footfall to the town and local jobs, but it also represents a strong vote of confidence in Midsomer Norton.”
The proposed opening date of the venue is Tuesday, 4th September this year.
