A new Residents’ Parking Zone comes into force on January 20th in Lyncombe Vale, Perrymead and Greenway Lane in Bath.

B&NES Council is introducing the zone in response to residents’ concerns to improve air quality and the environment for the local community. The aim is to reduce carbon emissions from vehicles circling while looking for a parking space and to give residents more opportunity to find spaces nearer to their homes. Access for larger vehicles such as refuse and emergency vehicles will also be improved.

Councillor Manda Rigby, cabinet member for Transport, said: “People in Lyncombe have been asking for a Residents’ Parking Zone for a long time, so I’m delighted. These improvements to on-street parking arrangements will mean residents have more chance of parking near their homes with less through-traffic from commuters. It will also create a safer space for walking and cycling.”
