The Chilcompton Station Project is in the final stages of its formation, and has drawn together a mixture of new and experienced local and national railway preservationists.
The organisation aims to clear away over 52 years of vegetation and rebuild the station, so that it resembles its former glory of the 1950s. In the following years, we hope to connect with the line from Midsomer Norton, and later extend southwards in the direction of Binegar.
The Chilcompton Station Project so far has received positive feedback from Taylor Wimpey (site owners), Chilcompton Parish Council and local residents. We are awaiting site access to be granted by Taylor Wimpey, which is hoped will be given shortly.
The site will continue to be closed to the public until such a time that site tours can be arranged.
